U Rozvařilů isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a piece of Prague’s culinary history. Our goal isn’t to change the legend, but to revive its glory and ensure that people keep coming back for that authentic feeling of a hearty lunch.
The U Rozvařilů restaurant is one of the oldest and best-known establishments of its kind in Prague.
The tradition of the “U Rozvařilů” brand dates back to the Middle Ages, when a brewery bore the name “U Rozvařilů.” Over time, the venue has served as a First Republic-era restaurant, a cabaret, and a nightclub, and later as a self-service restaurant, a buffet, and a wine bar. Starting in 1993, it operated on a tray-service system, for which the term “táckovna” became established.
The U Rozvařilů cafeteria is one of the oldest and best-known establishments of its kind in Prague. Our team is fully aware of and honors this historical legacy.
The restaurant’s philosophy is based on three pillars that are key to a quick lunch in the city center: speed, price, and quality.
Service is designed to keep wait times to a minimum, and our pricing remains affordable, with the average price of a lunch—including a house-made side dish — around 135 CZK.
At the same time, we place great emphasis on the quality of ingredients and honest preparation, allowing our cafeteria to carry on the tradition of hearty, home-style Czech cuisine.
